Armed Forces Divorce Solicitors

Solicitors who really understand Armed Forces Divorce

All divorces are emotional and difficult, but arguably armed forces divorces are more stressful than most. This is largely because of the heightened pressure many members of the armed forces and their families are under, as well as a range of special circumstances that can have an effect on the divorce.

For instance, armed forces pensions, accommodation and issues surrounding boarding school allowances can be quite complex to sort out. So it’s definitely important to find a solicitor who has the right experience. Our specialist armed forces divorce solicitors really understand these issues and have helped hundreds of serving and retired service personnel and their spouses, nationwide, with their military divorce.

2022 divorce update.
New legislation which came into force on 6 April 2022, introduced what is known as no-fault divorce. In particular it:

  • replaces the ‘five grounds’ for divorce – so now couples don’t have to give a reason for divorce – merely confirm that it has “irretrievably broken down”
  • introduces the ability to apply for a divorce together
  • removes the option of contesting the divorce
  • update some of the terminology in plain English. So, for example, decree absolute’ comes “final order”
Following the introduction of “no-fault divorce”  we now offer a £500 Fixed Fee Divorce Service (our fixed price service applies only to divorce, and doesn’t cover any legal advice on children or financial issues.  It also excludes the court fee).
